Welcome to Greater New London Farm to City Coalition |
GNLF2C has launched Phase II "Strategy and Food Exchange Pilot". A meeting at New London's Crocker House is planned for May 26, 2010 1:00 PM to 4:00 to begin the process of envisioning the larger role of GNLF2C as a means of connecting and building with our varied partners a viable, sustainable, appropriately scaled food system for the Greater New London area. Join us if you can. A report of the results will follow the session. Emily Brooks of Edibles Advocate Alliance will be faciliating the session. The Work Group has engaged the services of John Turene of the Sustainable Food Systems to begin the process of developing a food exchange with three of our major institutions in New London. ====================================================== For the December 2, 2009 Presentation - and latest update click. If you are a food producer, distributor, or food preparer, please take a few minutes to help us by completing one of the two surveys below. Thank you! GNLF2C is Southeastern Connecticut's Coalition of local food and the processes and distribution system that delivers high quality secure food to the Greater New London area.
Our goal is to connect our food producers in ways that are both intentional and organic, thereby weaving a local food system which supports our agriculture and fisheries in terms of both food and environmental services, with the myriad of delivery processes that work hand in hand with the people who reside, play, visit and work in this region. Our aim is to support the local economy in reducing food miles while developing a means of integrating healthy living, community and economic sustainability as a way of life. Come join us as we take this journey to growing deep and collaboratively, our local food supply and the pleasures that such a journey can bring to one and all! YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT TO ALL OF US!
